If you have the time, stay a little longer. Here are a few of our favorite places and ideas for making a little more of your time in Greece.
01CYCLADES
Syros is surrounded by some of Greece's most iconic islands, and the ferry network makes it possible to turn the wedding into a longer island-hopping trip.
MILOS
Dramatic coastline, incredible beaches, and so much to explore. A great choice if you want something beautiful and a little slower after the wedding.
SANTORINI
The sunsets and views are absolutely worth the trip. It does get busy and expensive in the summer, though, so 1–2 days is plenty before heading to your next stop.
MYKONOS
Known for the nightlife, but there's plenty more to it. Great beaches, beautiful towns, and just a short ferry ride from Syros. With its own airport, it can also be a convenient place to start or end your trip.

BEYOND THE ISLANDS
Greece has plenty more to offer beyond the Cyclades. Spend a little longer in Athens, head south to Crete, or trade the ferries for a road trip through the Peloponnese.
02ATHENS
Most trips to Syros will take you through Athens anyway. Give yourself a day or two for ancient history, great food, rooftop drinks and wandering through neighborhoods beneath the Acropolis.
03CRETE
With family roots in the villages around Chania, Olivia spent many summers in Crete growing up. Crete has incredible beaches and mountains, but it's the people and hospitality that make it so special.
It's a big island, so give it time. And if you're planning a trip to Crete, ask Olivia for her recommendations!
04PELOPONNESE
If island hopping isn't your thing, rent a car from Athens and head to the Peloponnese. Ancient sites, mountain towns, beautiful beaches, and plenty to explore make it a great way to see a completely different side of Greece.
